Strategizing a Re-Emerged CES Part III
Ended soon
In last week’s post, I shared a general overview for understanding and strategizing a successful CES 2022. As previously mentioned, this year’s “smaller” show of just under 2,000 exhibitors and most likely about 70,000 of my closest friends is still going to be big — and difficult to fully absorb. This week I’d like to share the things you simply should not miss.
Cars/Vehicles
I love cars, and these days, automotive technology is a driving force in advancing consumer tech innovation. At the new 600k square feet West Hall, you’ll see more than 190 companies from the transportation and vehicle tech industry. Brands such as BMW, Daimler, Damon Motorcycles, General Motors, Hyundai, Mitsubishi Electric, Waymo and other leaders. will display their latest innovations. The GM CEO, Mary Barra, will be onsite for the debut of the new, all-electric Chevy Silverado. And it’s not just cars — the latest innovations in electric bikes and electric scooters will be on display, with test track demos during the “eMobility Experience“ at LVCC, West Hall, West Plaza. From there, you can also experience Elon Musk’s underground vacuum-loop “people mover” from the new West Hall to the Central/North Halls!
Health & Wellness
The increased focus on wellness pre-dates COVID-19, but the pandemic has certainly accelerated the digital transformation of healthcare. The health category at CES will highlight the latest products and innovations improving our lives and how we approach health and wellness. You should plan on visiting the North Hall to discover how leading health technology companies such as Abbott, Omron Healthcare, Humana and many others are enabling people worldwide to take control of their healthcare.
CTA Innovation Awards and Eureka Park
The CES Innovation Awards is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products across 27 product categories. Honorees will showcase their products in the Innovation Awards Showcase at CES, located at the Venetian Expo. This year’s honorees includes products from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and France. You can find product descriptions and photos at CES.tech/innovation, or you can see the future, live and in-person, at the CES Awards Showcase.
Also in the Venetian Expo, in Hall G, you’ll want to budget some time for “Eureka Park,” a venue for start-ups from across the globe. France, Holland, the United Kingdom, Israel and many other nations will have pavilions there. This is the venue at CES where future-forward innovations debut, companies come to find partnerships and acquisitions, global media finds its next big story and investors find their next unicorn. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this global stage for innovation.
Z-Wave Pavilion (Booth 51715)
The largest IoT-smart home exhibit at CES will come courtesy of the Z-Wave Alliance, a global consortium of 300+ companies creating interoperable products and services powered by Z-Wave, the market-leading wireless technology for smarter, safer homes. In the interest of full disclosure, this one is a bit of a plug, as our client, DEN Smart Home, will be demonstrating its new SmartStrike™, a truly disruptive innovation in access control that will control the front door of the onsite “Z-Wave Experience House”. It is a unique opportunity to see and enjoy the benefits of an easy-to-use, fully automated smart home.
What Else
I’ve tried to focus here on what I see as the highlights and “must-sees” at CES but, alas, there is so much more. Are you a foodie? Come see the latest in food tech. Into robots and drones? Yep. Wondering about the future of IoT, the cloud, retail, e-tail, DTC, B2B? Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. The universe of technology, it’s all there!
CTA will once again create a virtual version of the show for remote access. The CES 2022 digital venue will be open until the end of January to give all attendees, exhibitors and media a chance to catch up. All keynotes, conferences, and media events will be available for streaming. But my hope is you are getting ready to join us in person in January!
